A Review on OFDM and PAPR Reduction Techniques

Abstract: OFDM is a multi carrier transmission technique where a single set of data is transmitted over a number of sub-carrier. OFDM takes the advantage of multi-path propagation and reduces the fading effect. The idea of OFDM is to split the total transmission bandwidth into a number of orthogonal subcarriers which reduces the inter-symbol-interference, power consumption and increases the capacity and efficiency of the system. PeakAverage-Power-Ratio (PAPR) is one of the dis-advantage of OFDM which reduces the efficie… Show more

“…Recent developments in various areas of nanotechnology show significant promise in addressing many of challenges faced by the construction industry ranging from structural strength enhancement to self-cleaning [1,[36][37][38][39] and biocidal properties [40]. In particular, incorporating nanoparticles or nanolayers into polymer matrix coatings and thin films can provide enhanced performance and additional functionalities [1].…”

“…A signal from BS comes through a different distance, is subject to attenuation because of free space losses and also distance, delay is different which means the phase that is arise at MS is different [3,19]. The same transmitted signal arriving at the MS with different path, receiving signals is added up at the MS with different attenuation and different delay, this result either constructive interference or destructive interference [18].…”

“…The whole system will get simplified by introducing IFFT and FFT operations. This entire process is named as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) (Kumar and Gupta, 2015b). By implementing this on Digital Signal Processor (DSP), it is possible to operate the system at higher speed.…”
