“…Families were eligible to participate if they had (i) an adolescent aged 11-15 years; (ii) at least one parent living in the same household as the adolescent willing to participate; and (iii) no physical or dietary restrictions. The age range of 11-15 years was selected with the goal of capturing youth who are transitioning into adolescence and are learning to manage their own health behaviors as parental influence begins to decline (Spera, 2005); this age range was based on the American Psychological Association (2002) definition of adolescence.
