As the economy of Malaysian government has transformed from a typical economy to human capital economy, the demand for Technical and Vocational Education & Training (TVET) institutions as a platform to develop human capital is also increasing. TVET based institutions in Malaysia are known as formal and informal learning sector which provide youthful people with the expertise and skills needed in the work sector. However, TVETbased qualifications and careers in Malaysia are perceived poorly and does not receive recognition in the workplace in terms of employability. These institutions cannot achieve their predetermined goals without effective leadership as the success and failure of the objectives depend on lecturers. Over the last three decades, transformational leadership has achieved legitimacy that has been showed to be an effective and influential enabler especially in developing employees' attitudes and behaviours. Thus, the aim of present research is determining the role of lecturer's transformational leadership in effecting students' employability. This study was conducted in ten (10) Technical and Vocational Education & Training (TVET) institutions located at Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. A total of 350 final year students were involved in this research which used the quantitative research design approach. Pearson correlations, linear regression and multiple regressions analysis were used to analyse the collected data. The findings indicated that lecturer's transformational leadership significantly and positively correlated with students' employability. In addition, the result also indicated that students' employability can be affected by role of lecturer's transformational leadership style. Based on the findings, it is indicated that lecturers must display an effective inspirational motivation, idealized influence, individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation which will then stimulate employability development among students especially in TVET institutions.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the challenges of computational thinking in computer science subject at school in Ministry of Education Malaysia. The study focuses on teaching and learning of computational thinking skills and computer science at secondary school to cope with the expected situation towards Education 4.0. The contribution study addresses the problem of improving computational skills among students through computer science education. The survey was conducted using the interview method and involved 3 experienced teacher in computer science. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analyzed using thematic analysis to extract meaning to understand and explain the subject matter of the study. The findings show that there is a gap based on technology exposure between the generation of teachers and students, therefore computer science requires a module and teaching materials that feature the latest technology. The study also found that the existing curriculum was in line with the efforts of improving the student's computational thinking skills. Therefore, teacher training, modular facilities, and technological materials still need to be improved in parallel with the development of technological knowledge for the generation of students and towards education 4.0.

Mastery of Pedagogical Knowledge and Skills in Technology and Innovation Amongst Army Instructors at Technical Training Centres

This study examined the mastery of technology and innovation of instructors pertaining to teaching and learning, amongst instructors at Technical Training Centres of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). A study in a form of survey was conducted on instructors in several MAF Training Centres using questionnaire forms. Part of the questionnaire instrument consisted of three parts that were labelled as A (demographics), B (measurement of pedagogical knowledge and contents), and C (measurement of communication, management, and teaching skills in classes and workshops). The sample involved 195 teaching instructors (161 male and 34 female). This study used descriptive statistics to obtain mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) values. The analysis of the results showed that the levels of knowledge (M = 2.10, SD = 0.04) and skills (M = 2.11, SD = 0.32) were low. Based on the study findings, several measures need to be implemented to improve the mastery of the knowledge and teaching skills amongst teaching instructors at Technical Training Centres, to improve the technological and innovation knowledge in teaching and learning. Therefore, more in-depth studies should be conducted in an effort to identify the actions and training that need to be implemented by the MAF management to improve the professionalism of the technical teaching instructors at the Technical Training Centres of the MAF.
