“…Currently, nucleotide(s) analogs (NA) and interferon (IFN) are commonly used to treat CHB (7). Although several kinds of NAs are available, including lamivudine, telbivudine, entecavir, emtricitabine, adefovir dipivoxil (ADV), and tenofovir (8), patients cannot stop treatment because covalently closed circular (ccc)DNA is stably incorporated into the nucleus of hepatocytes, even after treatment with an NA (6,8).…”

“…However, its resistance rate is relatively high during its long-term application, due to low genetic barriers to resistance [2]. According to the results of the Global study, the effects can be increased and the resistance rate can be reduced with effective management according to baseline factors and early on-treatment responses [3]. …”

“…At present, IFN-α and nucleoside analogs, including lamivudine, entecavir, telbivudine, emtricitabine, tenofovir, and adefovir, are used as treatment for chronic viral hepatitis 9,10 . Only subgroups of patients are treated with IFN-α is being eradicated for a long time.…”
