Abstract: The ocular analogue of a cerebral stroke is central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO), a medical emergency concerning the eyes. Most patients experience substantial acute vision loss with a visual acuity of 20/400 or worse, resulting in decreased quality of life (QoL) and decreased functional ability.
