A Review of Attendance Management Systems

Abstract: Abstract. This paper reviews attendance management systems (AMS). An AMS (semi) automatically identifies the students in the classroom and makes report on attendees and absentees. A biometrics-based AMS identifies students by reading fingerprints or irises. A radio-frequency-identification (RFID)-based AMS recognizes a student by reading the unique RFID carried by the student.
