PurposeThis paper seeks to examine how expectations from business analytics (BA) by members of agile information systems development (ISD) teams affect their perceptions and continuous use of BA in ISD projects.Design/methodology/approachData was collected from 153 respondents working in agile ISD projects and analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling techniques (PLS-SEM).FindingsPerceived usefulness and technological compatibility are the most salient factors that affect BA continuance intention in agile ISD projects. The proposed model explains 48.4% of the variance for BA continuance intention, 50.6% of the variance in satisfaction, 36.7% of the variance in perceived usefulness and 31.9% of the variance in technological compatibility.Research limitations/implicationsFirst, this study advances understanding of the factors that affect the continuous use of BA in agile ISD projects; second, it contextualizes the expectation-confirmation model by integrating technological compatibility in the context of agile ISD projects.Originality/valueThis is the first study to investigate BA continuance intention from an employee perspective in the context of agile ISD projects.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are self-driving vehicles in robotic technology, which are in incremental demand for transportation. In this paper, re-engineering the UAVs model for payload delivery service to enhance the feature of tracking, communication of recorded audio voices, and enlarging of new process to deliver a partial control of the UAVs especially for the customers is being discussed. In the present study, integration of UAVs and mobile technology has been adopted for re-engineering of the UAV based delivery process. The fundamental approach of the present study is to involve the customer in the entire process of payload delivery under effective coordination to provide customer-oriented functionality which will improve the customer encounter in logistics operations. People don't get to visit his/her loved one's grave due to lack of time, busy schedule or traffic congestion. Visiting of graveyard is unfriendly for elderly too because of their health issues. Today, by the coordination of developed sensor and IT innovation, visiting of graveyard has become simple. To be perfect and reasonable, artifacts of the proposed model can easily be implemented for the virtual visiting of graveyard. By utilization of the proposed model, individuals and particularly elderly or women can easily visit the loved one's grave from the comfort of their home by watching ongoing recordings of the blooming activity on grave or tomb. Furthermore people can send recorded audio, voice message or Quran recitation from his/her registered mobile app at the graveyard. The proposed model is evaluated by conducting survey-based quantitative research approach based on the Delphi method. The performance of the model is analyzed by the goodness-of-fit (Chi-square) test. The inspection of the overall outcome against the re-engineering model and its provided service efficiency has a greater impact of acceptance.INDEX TERMS Real-time monitoring, partial controlling, payload delivery, recorded audio delivery, UAV.

Multi-criteria decision-making leveraged by text analytics and interviews with strategists

Strategic decision-making in organisations is a complex process affected by preferences, experiences, perspectives, and knowledge, which, in most cases, are ambiguous, contradictory, and represented in unstructured data. This paper develops a methodological framework to address strategic decision-making processes from a multi-criteria perspective, assisted by text analytics and interviews. The framework comprises five stages and 12 steps, and is empirically tested in a decision scenario involving a strategic focus for future analytics initiatives in order to stimulate value generation from analytics. The proposed framework enables the discovery, validation, and prioritisation of strategic patterns from relevant interview data. Among six decision alternatives discovered in the validation scenario, customer analytics was the strategic focus most relevant to future analytics initiatives. This article contributes to understanding and addressing complex decision-making processes and mixed research in organisations, through a multi-criteria perspective leveraged by a text-driven computational approach.
