A resilient key predistribution scheme for multiphase wireless sensor networks

Abstract: Abstract-In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes eventually die due to battery depletion. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in which new nodes are periodically redeployed with certain intervals, called generations, to replace the dead nodes are called multi-phase wireless sensor networks. In the literature, there are several key predistribution schemes proposed for secure operation of WSNs. However, these schemes are designed for single phase networks which are not resilient against continuous node capture att… Show more

“…In [24], the authors introduced the different KM strategies on WSNs with classifying 8 classes; network-wide KM scheme, full-pair-wise KM schemes, probabilistic approach, polynomial-based, matrixbased KM approach, combinatorial design, and Key deployment knowledge-based approach. In the probabilistic approach, the authors speak about various deployments by 3 proposals; RoK [25], RGM [26] & ZoRoK [27]. In [28], Chi-Yuan et al explored a survey study on the classification of key management schemes based on location-awareness of sensor nodes.…”

“…For any pair of nodes that do not share a key and are connected by multiple hops, there needs to be assigned a path-key to guarantee end-to-end secure communication. Such there is need to develop a dynamic path key distribution and establishment needs to be improved [14] .…”
