A reliability allocation method of mechanism considering system performance reliability

Abstract: It is generally believed that the reliability of a mechanical system is determined by its composition. The system operates properly when all of its components do not fail. Based on this assumption, the reliability of the system can be represented by the reliability of its components. A problem arises when applying this hypothesis to a system containing motion mechanisms. There is a phenomenon in motion mechanism that the components do not happen structural failure (we call it “Type I failure”) and joint failur… Show more

“…A reliability model of a system with multiple correlated failure modes where Copula function is applied modeling the correlation among failure modes was introduced by Gu et al [21]. Zhang et al [22] acquainted a relative dispersion factor to modeling the failure dependence of components and a series system reliability allocation model contains three types of failure modes. They divided the factors influencing system reliability allocation into direct and indirect categories.…”

“…1,2 Use-oriented PSS only provides services to customers, while the ownership of products still belongs to the service suppliers or manufacturers, such as public infrastructures, rental services, electric vehicle charging stations, bike-sharing systems, and so forth. 3,4 Such complex industrial systems are generally subject to multiple failure modes, 5 which are closely related to the composition of the system. 6 Elaborate maintenance planning for use-oriented PSS is crucial to timely fulfill the customer demand and reduce the operation cost.…”
