“…N-(2-Alkyltetrazol-5-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamides and -thioamides 160 were shown 300, 301 to react with copper(II), zinc(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) acetates at 20 8C to give a series of mono-, bi-and tetranuclear complexes differing appreciably in the structure of the coordination unit, which decompose only at temperatures above 250 8C [note that during the synthesis Co(II) was oxidised to Co(III)]. For the Ni 4 L 8 complexes and their solvates with metal ± metal distances of 5.56 ± 5.57 # A, a weak intramolecular ferromagnetic interaction has been found 300 A ditetrazole derivative of this type, N(2),N(6)-bis(1-methyltetrazol-5-yl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (161), has been used 303,304 for the synthesis of transition metal oxo complexes. This compound undergoes double deprotonation, and the doubly charged anion exists in solution as two rotamers, L A and L B ; these species selectively form oxo complexes of two different types, Fe 2 MOL 3 [M = Fe(II), Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II)] and Zn 8 O 2 L 6 .…”
