A Rarely Seen Phenolato and Azido-Bridged Polymeric Cadmium(II) Complex Derived from 2-Bromo-6-[(2-isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol

Abstract: A rarely seen phenolato and azido-bridged polymeric cadmium(II) complex derived from the Schiff base ligand 2-bromo-6-[(2-isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol (HL) has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The Schiff base ligand coordinates to the Cd atom through the NNO donor set. The Cd atom is hexa-coordinated in an octahedral geometry.
