Abstract:Bipolar esophageal exclusion is a “Hail Mary” procedure for control of leak and persistent mediastinal soilage from esophageal injury. Usually, the esophageal remnant scars down without negative consequences. Esophageal mucocele is a rare complication of bipolar esophageal exclusion.
