A Qualitative Investigation of the Impact of COVID-19 on Macau’s Gaming Industry

Abstract: The purpose of this research note is to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on Macau's gaming industry. In-depth interviews were conducted with representatives of the six casino groups in Macau. The findings reveal that the casino business has been profoundly affected by the limitations on tourist mobility. In terms of casino operations, hygiene measures have been improved and even become a selling point.
