“…Discordant findings in published studies may be explained by the fact that every patient admitted to the ICU and their relatives are different, both from a clinical and personal standpoint. We know that patients appreciate ICU diaries, but they acknowledge that they need support when they receive it 29 . Reading an ICU diary for the first time could be a stressful experience for patients as they may realize the agonies suffered by themselves and by their families with the risk of adverse effects from diaries.…”
