A Qualitative Analysis of Parents With Children Diagnosed With Reading Disabilities

Abstract: Semistructured interviews were conducted with nine parents with children diagnosed with reading disability (RD). A phenomenological theoretical tradition was used to explore the meaning, structure, and essence of the shared experiences of these individuals. “…Dysfunctional career thinking has been identified as a significant concern for young adults with ADHD (Dipeolu et al, 2013) and may contribute to occupational stress and mental health concerns (Walker & Peterson, 2012). ADHD symptoms have a direct impact on work effectiveness and performance, and these issues may act as barriers to career development (Dipeolu et al, 2014).
