A QoS Management Technique of Urgent Information Provision in ITS Services Using DSRC for Autonomous Base Stations

Abstract: SUMMARY A QoS management technique based on an autonomou decentralized mobility system, which is an autonomous decentralized sysem enhanced to provide mobile stations with information about urgent roadway situations, is proposed in this paper. This technique enables ur gent messages to be flexibly and quickly transmitted to mobile stations by multiple decentralized base stations using dedicated short range communi cation. It also supports the easy addition of additional base stations. Each station autonomously… Show more

“…DOT and will form the central focus for its IntelliDrive program, formerly known as vehicle-infrastructure integration.2. The analysis illustrates that DSRC is the only viable technology in the near term that offers the latency, accuracy, and reliability needed for active safety. The preceding critical points have motivated a lot of interest in developing applications with DSRC technology to improve safety and mobility of traffic on U.S. highways (3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11). Recently, a remote collision avoidance system using DSRC-based V2V communication was verified (8).…”
