A QoS‐aware service discovery method for elastic cloud computing in an unstructured peer‐to‐peer network

Abstract: SUMMARY Traditionally, service discovery is often promoted by the centralized approach that typically suffers from single point of failure, poor reliability, poor scalability, to name a few. In view of this challenge, a QoS‐aware service discovery method is investigated for elastic cloud computing in an unstructured peer‐to‐peer network in this paper. Concretely speaking, the method is deployed by two phases, that is, service registering phase and service discovery phase. More specifically, for a peer node eng… Show more

“…Other approaches [23,24] used simple additive weight (SAW)-based methods to rank alternatives for cloud service adoption. Based on decision-making theories in [23], the authors analysed problems which might be encountered by consumers criteria during service selection process and identified solution which can be used in the process.…”

“…To measure the performance, the algorithm was compared to the algorithm in [24] which used the probabilistic flooding-based method, by combining simple additive weighting (SAW) technique and Skyline filtering. In addition, it was compared to SPSE algorithm, which uses the pareto optimal-based solution method [25].…”

“…Based on this, they proposed a manual trust model and an automatic trust model that remove the influence of additional factors on reputation to truly reflect node trust. In [15], the authors proposed a QoS-aware service discovery method which can be applied in P2P-based cloud environments. In their method, peer nodes engaged in P2P network are firstly registered to its neighbours in a flooding way, and then the QoS-aware service discovery is promoted in a probabilistic flooding way according to the network traffic.…”
