“…Expression of Glc1.8 from Microplitis demolitor bracovirus impairs adhesion and phagocytosis behaviors of hemocyte-like cells (Beck and Strand, 2005). C. plutellae bracovirus encodes several immunosuppressive genes including CpBV-PTPs, CpBV-IKBs, CpBV-EP1, CpBV-RTX, and CpBV15ß with different parasitic effects (Ibrahim and Kim, 2006;Kwon and Kim, 2008;Kim et al, 2008;Lee and Kim, 2008;Bae and Kim, 2009). An experimental approach of SERI conducted in this study was based on an assumption that two unidentified genes encoded in CpBV-S3 may be associated with the viral activity to inhibit host immune responses.…”

“…CpBV15β is known to inhibit spreading behavior and F-actin growth in hemocytes of the parasitized host (14). A putative actin destabilizer (CpBV-RTX) and cysteine-rich protein of CpBV are also expressed in parasitized larvae of P. xylostella, and impair the hemocyte immune response by inhibiting actin polymerization and delaying host larval development (15,16). Despite current efforts to verify the physiological functions of predicted CpBV genes, more than 50% of the putative genes are yet to be unknown in their roles in the parasitism.…”
