A Prospective Study of Surgical Management of Diaphyseal Fractures of Femur in Children Aged Between 5 to 16 Years Using Elastic Stable Intra Medullary Nailing

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Elastic stable intramedullary nailing for the treatment of Pediatric Femur diaphyseal fractures was introduced by Pr´evot and colleagues in 1979. The technique offers several advantages, including better reduction, dynamic axial stabilization, shorter hospitalization with early rehabilitation and low rate of complications. OBJECTIVES: To study the union rates and functional outcome of closed reduction and internal fixation of pediatric diaphyseal fractures of femur with TENS.
