A prospective cohort study on the association between waterpipe tobacco smoking and gastric cancer mortality in Northern Vietnam

Abstract: Tobacco consumption, as a worldwide problem, is a risk factor for several types of cancer. In Vietnam, tobacco consumption in the form of waterpipe tobacco smoking is common. “…For the sample size, we designed the prospective cohort study 10 to examine the individual cancer site after the first decade of the following-up of stomach and colorectal cancers. The results have been published elsewhere for the association between waterpipe tobacco smoking and stomach cancer 9 .
