“…The way of drying the deposited drop of radioactive solution affects its quality. Several drying methods can be used: in open air, in a laminar flow or fume hood, at room temperature or heated by an infrared lamp, in a wet atmosphere or by special drying techniques such as freeze-drying [44,45] or warm dry nitrogen jets (figure 5) [33,46]. It is important to make the operation in a dust-free environment to avoid inclusion of dust particles in the radioactive source.…”

“…Three mixed sources ( 241,242g Am + 60 Co) were prepared from each irradiated target using a 2 : 1 ratio (β-pure and β − γ , respectively), in order to obtain similar counting rates for both radionuclides. A seeding agent (CYASTAT SN) was used for improving the deposit uniformity and the sources were dried in a warm (45 • C) nitrogen jet [14]. Several sources of 60 Co and 241 Am have been standardized by the 4πβ − γ coincidence and 4πα systems respectively, to be used for calibrating the HPGe spectrometer system.…”

“…A secagem das fontes foi feita por meio de jato de nitrogênio aquecido (45 °C), para evitar a formação de cristais grandes durante a secagem (WYLLIE et al, 1970).…”
