“…Porous media combustion (PMC) has several appealing advantages, including a widely adjustable thermal loading, extended flammability limits, lower pollutant emission, and a smaller equipment volume. The burning process in the porous medium is divided into gas fuel burning and liquid fuel burning according to the difference in the fuels. During the past three decades, extensive experimental and theoretical studies have been carried out on PMC using gas fuels and focusing on the stabilization of the flame, flame propagation, and reciprocating flow combustion. Recently, the PMC of liquid fuels has been increasingly investigated to understand its mechanism and to improve the evaporation and combustion of the fuel spray.…”
