A polyoxometalate gel electrolyte with enhanced electrochemical performance

Abstract: A novel hybrid gel electrolyte has been synthesized by self-assembling of 1-(3-sulfonic group) propyl pyridine (PyPS) cation and the heteropoly anion. The results of FTIR spectra and XRD patterns indicate the synthesized hybrid gel electrolyte [PyPS]5SiMo[Formula: see text]VO[Formula: see text] possesses lamellar structure with [Formula: see text]-spacing of 2.09[Formula: see text]nm. The electrochemical stability potential window is up to 3[Formula: see text]V. Ionic conductivity of [Formula: see text][Formul… Show more

“…In fact, ternary polyoxometalates usually show more perfect properties than binary ones such as reversible thermal response and electrochemical performance. [25][26][27][28] Herein, a series of novel polyoxometalate ionic liquid catalysts were prepared by using an organic ammonium, 1-(3-sulfonic group) graed triethylamine (TEAPS) and vanadium-substituted ternary heteropolyacids. The catalysts have good activity and reusability in esterication system owing to their acidity and thermoregulated property.…”

“…Furthermore, we also found a broad diffraction peaks in the region of 2 θ = 20–35° of POM-ASs, which indicates the distinction between the POM-ASs and their parent HPA. 29 [PyPS] 3 H 4 SiW 9 V 3 O 40 and [PyPS] 5 H 2 SiW 9 V 3 O 40 present similar XRD pattern. This phenomenon infers that the parent HPA is changes into amorphous structure after the acidic protons (PyPS) were added.…”

“…[45] To date, many POM-containing gels have been constructed based on this strategy by using cationic surfactants, cationic ionic liquids, polymers, and zwitterions as organic components. [46,47] Another important interaction in POM-containing supramolecular gels is hydrogen bonding, which commonly plays a key role in the system comprising of POMs and neutral organic molecules such as amino acids and peptide. [48,49] As a relative strong supramolecular interaction, a coordination bond is also powerful for building POM-containing gels in the presence of transition or rareearth metal ions.…”
