A policy analysis of teamwork as a proposal for healthcare humanization: implications for nursing

Abstract: The Brazilian National Humanization Policy demands inclusion of various kinds of knowledge and networking. Research is needed to elucidate the nature of nursing care and its distinctive character in relation to the work objectives of other professional disciplines.

“…According to the findings of the present study, on the one hand, biomedical and technified healthcare models centred on the reason for admission should be replaced by models which prioritize healthcare itself and facilitate accompaniment by family members or close relatives of frail patients, particularly in the case of young children, older people with cognitive impairment, and individuals with mental illness or disability (Gamella Pizarro, Sánchez Martos, González Armengol, & Fernández Pérez, 2014), involving them in all aspects and stages of the healthcare process (Bates, 2018).
