A Planning Strategy to Improve Economic Development of South Africa: MDG1

Abstract

In 1987, the World Commission on Environment and Development published a Brundtland Report entitled 'Our Common Future' Their defined sustainable development as 'development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability for future generation to meet their needs. (HSRC2000). Development planning at international level has focus on the Millennium Development Goals, which are called Sustainable Development Goals, there are 17 Sustainable development goals, In this paper we will focus goal number 1. Which is eradicate extreme hunger and poverty in South Africa?
