Abstract: BackgroundResearchers have yet to determine the optimal care of patients with advanced CKD. Besides controlling phosphate and FGF23 levels, ferric citrate may have beneficial effects on CKD-related anemia by increasing hemoglobin, ferritin, and transferrin saturation [158].
