“…The full width at half maximum value of the dominant central resonance (m = 1/2 ↔ m = −1/2 transition) shows a characteristic temperature dependence according to which it decreases from the so-called rigid-lattice width of typically a few kHz to only a fraction of that width in the temperature regime of extreme narrowing over a range of several hundred K. The actual residual line width is determined by the inhomogeneity of the external magnetic field. The temperature dependence of the motionally induced averaging of the dipolar interaction between the nuclei can be fitted with a suitable model yielding an estimation of the activation energy of the hopping rate of the interacting nuclei [44].…”
