A Pharmacognostic and Pharmacological overview on various Bamboo Species

Abstract

The plant which reviewed in this article is bamboo. Bamboo plants mostly seen to be as construction materials and also some countries used as food. As per ethnomedicinal uses of the plant have various potential against the diseases and disorders as like it had antioxidant, antiulcer, antidiabetic, antifertility, antileshmaniasis, hepatoprotective, antihypertensive actions and also had more potential phenolics and flavonoid content present in it. Bamboo is plant generally grows in moist regions and contains various nutritional constituents also in it. In this article Pharmacognostic and pharmacological overview of some bamboo species was described which is already reported by using various in-vivo and in-vitro models for their respected pharmacological action potentials.
