Abstract:Neste artigo busco ler o romance A peste de Albert Camus colocando-o em diálogo com o presente e com outras obras. Ao imaginar a cidade de Orã, na Argélia (então francesa), tomada pela peste, Camus faz uma alegoria do sentimento de aprisionamento e exílio vivido pela população francesa durante os anos da ocupação alemã na Segunda Grande Guerra. Vivendo confinados e isolados durante os meses da COVID-19, podemos ter uma sensibilidade aguçada para ler este romance hoje.
