“…We suppose these results are quite important due to the following two reasons: firstly, the structure of coatings is similar to that of nanocomposite, the coating consists of the ductile base with the fcc lattice type which is reinforced by lamellas of hard and heat-resistant intermetallic phase. In perspective, it gives the possibility of creating a protective coating being a combination of such properties as thermal stability, high hardness and good ductility all at once, as noted also by the authors of [2,4,6]. Secondly, the results indirectly confirm the correctness of the computer stimulation of temperature profiles; therefore the correct model of the process as the whole and reliable software in particular were designed.…”

“…Combustion flame spraying, high velocity oxy-fuel spraying (HVOF), plasma spraying, and microplasma spraying are widely used in a variety of industrial and medical applications [2]. Among the different existing plasma spraying processes, microplasma spraying (MPS) is comparatively new and offers specific and unique properties [3][4][5][6].…”

“…In plasma cutting, the ever increasing need for higher productivity and cutting quality has directed research towards the improvement of electrode and nozzle lifetimes and process control, especially during the transient phases of the cutting process. The need for thinner coatings with finer microstructure, which are more accommodating of thermal and mechanical stresses, has motivated the development of relatively-new plasma spray processes, including solution and suspension spraying, very-low-pressure plasma spraying (VLPPS) and plasma spray-chemical vapour deposition (PS-CVD) [124].…”

“…In welding, such properties include the microstructure, and the residual stress and distortion, of the welded metal [130]. In plasma spraying, the properties of the deposited coating, including its structure, porosity, stresses and adhesion to the substrate, are critical [124]. Coupling of the plasma model to the material property model requires a transfer of information between computer codes, in some cases in both directions; this is complicated by the different meshes and computational methods used (for example, finite element analysis for residual stress calcul ations) and the different platforms used to run the codes.…”

“…Although a large number of experimental and modeling results concerning the plasma spraying process have been published [5][6][7], the complicated interactions of the plasma with electromagnetic, thermal, and acoustics phenomena are still not fully understood [8]. In plasma spraying, the anode nozzle is one of the key components of the plasma torch.…”
