A Permanent Lisa

Abstract: This article describes one collaborative arts-based research project. Portrait artist Mark Gilbert considers lessons for art and healing from one patient, Lisa. Lisa took comfort in the permanence of portraiture amidst the uncertainties of tongue cancer.
