A pan-cancer analysis of the oncogenic role of zinc finger protein 419 in human cancer

Abstract: BackgroundAs a ferroptosis-related gene, the polymorphism of zinc finger protein 419 (ZNF419) at the splice donor site may generate renal cell carcinoma-associated novel minor histocompatibility antigen ZAPHIR. However, the role of ZNF419 in prognosis and immunology in human tumors remains largely unknown. This study aimed to visualize the prognostic landscape of ZNF419 at pan-cancer level and explore the relationship between ZNF419 expression and the tumor immune microenvironment.MethodPan-cancer and mutation… Show more

“…Spearman's correlation test was performed to get the pvalue. According to previous studies, 17 we downloaded the normalized pan‐cancer datasets from the UCSC database (https://xenabrowser.net/), extracted the expression data of ZNRF3 (ENSG00000183579) of each sample and analyzed the relationship between ZNF419 expression and tumor heterogeneity using Pearson's correlation coefficient. We also evaluated the tumor stemness utilizing 6 indexes including DNAss, EREG‐METHS, DMPss, ENHss, RNAss, and EREG.EXPS.…”

“…Consistent with our previous studies [ 21 , 22 ], we extracted ALYREF (ENSG00000183684) expression data from a standardized TCGA pan-cancer dataset obtained from the UCSC database [ 23 ]. We also evaluated metastatic samples from primary tumor, TCGA-Skin Cutaneous Melanoma, and cancer-derived peripheral blood from primary blood (TCGA-Acute Myeloid Leukemia).…”

“…Tumor heterogeneity included homologous recombination deficiency (HRD), loss of heterozygosity (LOH), neoantigen (NEO), tumor ploidy, tumor purity, mutant-allele tumor heterogeneity (MATH), tumor mutation burden (TMB) and microsatellite instability (MSI) 36 , 37 . The results of above indicators were obtained from our previous study 38 , 39 . We compared the differences of two subtypes using the Wilcoxon rank sum test.…”
