A Numerical Study of Clear-Air Turbulence over North China on 6 June 2017

Abstract: On 6 June 2017, four severe clear-air turbulence (CAT) events were observed over northern China within 3 h. These events mainly occurred at altitudes between 8.1 and 9.5 km. The characteristics and possible mechanisms of the CAT events in the different regions are investigated here using the weather research and forecasting (WRF) model.
