A novel two-dimensional layered framework built of strontium(II) with 4-nitrobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid

Abstract: In poly[[aquastrontium(II)]-micro(6)-4-nitrobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylato-kappa(7)O(1):O(2):O(2):O(3):O(3),O(4):O(4)], [Sr(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(H(2)O)](n), the Sr(II) ion displays a distorted bicapped triangular prismatic configuration, defined by seven carboxyl O atoms from six symmetry-related ligands and one water molecule. The ligand molecules connect the Sr(II) ions into a two-dimensional layered framework in the ac plane, with close O...O contacts between the nitro groups and with each nitro group providing one ac… Show more

“…Several research groups reported CNs, , formed using benzene polycarboxylate based linkers with noncarboxy functional side chains (-OH, -NH 2 ). The dimensionality of the networks depends on the reaction conditions used and the relative positions of the noncarboxy functional groups with respect to the carboxylate groups within the linkers.…”

“…in conjunction with carboxylate groups are used for the creation of supramolecular assemblies recently [20][21][22], duing to the simultaneous formation of dative bonds and noncovalent bonds. In a previous work, we demonstrated two supramolecular architectures using 4-nitro-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (NO 2 -H 2 BDC) as ligand [23,24]. This work is an extension of the above studies with four new complexes M(NO 2 -HBDC) 2 [24].…”
