A novel triggering condition of event‐triggered control based on heuristic dynamic programming for discrete‐time systems

Abstract: Summary In this paper, an event‐triggered heuristic dynamic programming algorithm for discrete‐time nonlinear systems with a novel triggering condition is studied. Different from traditional heuristic dynamic programming algorithms, the control law in this algorithm will only be updated when the triggering condition is satisfied to reduce the computational burden. Three neural networks are employed, which are model network, action network, and critic network. Model functions, control laws, and value functions … Show more

“…A hybrid triggering scheme is proposed in terms of a combination of time‐triggering scheme and event‐triggering scheme, which works in accordance with Bernoulli distribution . A self‐triggering scheme utilizing current sampled data rather than continuously measured data is studied in the work of Qi et al A novel event‐triggering scheme with a simpler form and fewer initial hypotheses is proposed for discrete‐time systems . Moreover, a performance‐dependent event‐triggering scheme is given based on the dynamic and steady‐state processes of a control system…”

“…Dual‐heuristic programming (DHP) is a kind of ADP, which is suitable for complex nonlinear systems with high control precision and can obtain the optimal control law by off‐line iteration 14,15 . Therefore, in this paper, we combine DHP with EPB shield to solve the earth pressure optimal control problem during the shield tunneling process, and a multi‐variable optimal control method for the earth pressure balance in chamber based on data‐driven method is proposed.…”

“…These constraints lead to performance degradation or even destabilizing NCS. For reducing the network workload, the ET mechanism has been proposed . In the conventional/continuous ET control, the sampling time is executed after an event, which is generated by some state or/and input dependent condition, whereas, in periodic sampled‐data control, it is a fixed value.…”
