Abstract: Purpose: Ceftazidime-avibactam (CAZ-AVI) along with aztreonam (ATM) is widely used off-label in clinical practice in India for OXA48 plus NDM producing carbapenem resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CR Kp). If the level of AVI is maintained at 2.5 mg/ml, it protects ATM from OXA48 and allows it to act against NDM producing CR Kp, for which the MIC to ATM has been found in a published report to be 2 mg/ml.
