A novel stochastic fuzzy decision model for agile and sustainable global manufacturing outsourcing partner selection in footwear industry

Abstract: PurposeThe decision-making to outsource and select the most suitable global manufacturing outsourcing partner (MOP) is complex and uncertain due to multiple conflicting qualitative and quantitative criteria as well as multiple alternatives. Vagueness and variability exist in ratings of criteria and alternatives by group of decision-makers (DMs). The paper provides a novel Stochastic Fuzzy (SF) method for evaluation and selection of agile and sustainable global MOP in uncertain and volatile business environment… Show more

“…(Wang and Rani, 2022b) In an uncertain business world, it is suggested to incorporate the resilient criteria in addition to the sustainability criteria for the partner selection. Along the same lines, it is crucial to consider both the resilience and sustainability parameters while doing the risk analysis (Akhtar et al, 2023;Jabbarzadeh et al, 2018). This will help organizations to develop resilient strategies and enhance sustainable performance.…”

“…Hybrid approaches such as combined fuzzy and stochastic variants of AHP, TOPSIS, Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA), VI sekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (multi-criteria optimization and compromise solution) abbreviated as VIKOR and Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) and their comparisons are recommended for future research (Akhtar et al, 2023). In addition, the use of stochastic programming for sustainable partner selection needs to be explored in the future (Wu et al, 2023).…”
