A Novel Simulation Model for Nonstationary Rice Fading Channels

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new simulator for nonstationary Rice fading channels under nonisotropic scattering scenarios, as well as the improved computation method of simulation parameters. The new simulator can also be applied on generating Rayleigh fading channels by adjusting parameters. The proposed simulator takes into account the smooth transition of fading phases between the adjacent channel states. The time-variant statistical properties of the proposed simulator, that is, the probability density func… Show more

“…17 and 19 that the reflection of the oncoming truck produces a tall spectral spike that commutes from an initial positive frequency of around 250 Hz to a negative frequency of -250 Hz. This behavior is consistent with the theoretical models of electromagnetic wave propagation when the source and the observer are in motion [33], [34].…”

“…It is shown that the measured PDF of proposed channel emulator is close to the result of field test in [31]. Based on the theoretical expressions of ( 28)-( 30) in [32] and ( 9)-( 10) in [33], the absolute values of time-variant CCF of firt two paths are calculated and given in Figure 11. In the figure, we assume that the antenna spaces of the BS and MS are the same, and equal to twice the wavelength of carrier.…”

“…The proposals in [46] were applied by Dahech et al [47] to characterize non-stationary V2X channels allowing for speed and trajectory variations of the vehicles [47]. Based on the concepts discussed in [45][46][47], novel simulation models for non-stationary vehicular channels under velocity variations of the MSs were proposed independently in [48,49]. In the aforementioned papers, the spotlight was on narrowband channels.…”
