A Novel Sensitivity Analysis Method in Structural Performance of Hydraulic Press

Abstract: Sensitivity analysis plays a key role in structural optimization, but traditional methods of sensitivity analysis in strength and stiffness are time consuming and of high cost. In order to effectively carry out structural optimization of hydraulic press, this paper presents a novel sensitivity analysis method in structural performance of hydraulic press, which saves a great deal of time and design costs. The key dimension parameters of the optimization of design variables, which remarkably impact on the struct… Show more

“…Often, the deformation force during forging was represented by a linear model in the motion control of the HPM [3]- [5], resulting in a large modeling error because the nonlinear dynamics is not considered. Alternatively, a finiteelement model was employed to represent the deformation force model in the design of an HPM [6], [7]. This finiteelement method requires that all forging conditions are known, which are often difficult to obtain.…”

“…The hydraulic press machine (HPM) is a crucial piece of equipment in industry. It provides a forging force to shape a pattern of a forging in dies. A typical forging process is shown in Figure , where the work plate of the HPM is driven by three driving cylinders placed above the work plate.…”
