A Novel Routing Protocol for Mobile Nodes in WSN

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks are energy constrained. Clustering algorithm is a key technology used to reduce power consumption in WSNs. The LEACH protocol is a typical adaptive clustering routing algorithm with low power consumption. Unfortunately, it has some disadvantages such as uneven distribution of cluster heads and unbalanced energy cost. In each round of communication, if a node moves away from a cluster or towards another cluster after cluster construction, LEACH protocol can't manage the route and proces… Show more

“…A new effective routing technique is designed for M-WMSN by considering the network topology, node's mobility, power utilization, coverage, and so on. In Reference [24], a mobility-based protocol called Mobile LEACH was presented for M-WMSN. The process of mobile LEACH was similar to that of the traditional LEACH [25].…”

“…Even dynamic clustering improves the lifetime of the network; the static LEACH is not suitable for the large scale mobile wireless sensor networks; therefore, LEACH with mobility must be considered for the dynamic networks. The LEACH variants such as T-LEACH, mobile LEACH, and LEACH-mobile-enhanced are considered for the mobile sensor networks [29][30][31][32]. Wireless Sensor Networks -Insights and Innovations…”

“…It incorporates data fusion into the routing protocols to reduce the amount of information to be transferred to the (BS). Modified LEACH has been proposed in previous studies [9][10][11][12][13][14]. Farooq-et al, [10] proposed a Multi-hop Routing LEACH (MR-LEACH) protocol that divides the network into various cluster layers, wherein every cluster collaborates with BS to conserve energy.…”
