The researches on environmental and sustainability are an active topic, especially in the waste management. As such, the hazardous waste optimization is an active research topic in developing countries which may be integrated with carbon emissions and green subjects. This grand challenge motivates the current research to contribute a new multi-objective optimization model to address the green hazardous waste location-routing problem. The proposed multi-objective optimization model establishes four objectives simultaneously for the first time. In addition to the total cost and the greenhouse gas emissions of the transportation systems as the two main objectives, another objective function aims to minimize the risk of transportation of the hazardous waste alongside the waste residue associated with the people's exposure around transportation paths. Furthermore, the total risk linked with the population in a certain radius around the treatment and disposal centers is minimized. As the proposed model is complex with conflicting objectives, several multi-objective decision making (MODM) tools are employed and compared with each other based on different test problems associated with an industrial example. Based on the solution quality and the computational time, the technique for the order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) is selected as the strongest technique to assess the performances of all five MODM methodologies.

Infectious waste disposal is a crucial concern in many areas. Not only is the waste obnoxious, but it can also pose a vital risk to human health. Disposal of infectious waste incurs higher costs than general waste disposal and must abide by stricter regulations. In this paper, the infectious waste disposal is formulated as a multi-objective optimization model. The objectives encompass economic, social, and environmental concerns. To save cost, waste transshipment facilities to function as consolidation points are proposed and integrated in the model. The economic objective includes construction and operational costs of the transshipment and disposal facilities. The social objective considers the communities surrounding the disposal facilities, while carbon dioxide emission is used as the measure in the environmental objective. The model is reformulated based on the lexicographic weighted Tchebycheff method to ensure that the Pareto frontier of the solutions is obtained. Then the model is applied to a health region in Thailand. Daily and every-other-day waste collection intervals are compared to examine additional benefits. Certain sensitivity of the solutions is also analyzed. After comparing several solutions, a compromise among all three objectives is suggested. It is composed of three transshipment and two disposal facilities, each with 1000 kg capacity. Moreover, if the solution is executed with the every-other-day waste collection interval, the overall costs can be saved. A sensitivity analysis of the solution on fuel price found that the solution was not very sensitive against an increase in the fuel price, in that when the fuel price increased by 20% the overall costs only increased by 7%. Lastly, when the daily infectious wastes are doubled, all the objective function values rise, ranging from 56% to 163%. The new solution suggests an increase in the number of the disposal facilities to four, but a decrease of the transshipment ones to only two.

Water quality evaluation is a progressively significant area in environmental research and developing sustainable solutions. Evaluation of water quality can be a process that includes multiple factors which can be causing an impact on water quality. Academics have developed many assessment indices to intuitively display the environmental waste management system results and water quality evaluation. Environmental waste management encourages industrial garbage's safe handling and use by offering comprehensive, up-to-date information on physicochemical, chemical, and environmental hazards in the sugar, pulp, and paper industries, tanning, distilling, fabrics, petroleum hydrocarbons, and agrochemical industries. The environmental waste management system's challenging characteristics include the subsequent produce having a reduced life span and hazardous waste management spaces. The notices that are not completed consistently are considered the vital factor. In this paper, the Multi-Criteria Generic Evaluation Sustainable Approach (MCGESA) has been proposed to improve the resultant product's quality, support environmental-friendly practices water quality, and reduce the globe's temperature to develop a sustainable solution the environmental waste management system. Partial sustainable product analysis is implemented to replace the disposal items with reusable items and maintain eco-friendly recycled products to develop the environmental waste management system. Municipal life cycle assessment is integrated with MCGESA to strengthen uniformity in waste management practices that help to develop integrated environmental waste management systems with a sustainable solution. The simulation analysis is executed based on Economic, Ecological, and efficiency analysis, proving the suggested framework's reliability using SWR.
