“…The mean Ln-O bond distances of 2.417, 2.408 and 2.389Å in 2, 3 and 4, respectively, are close to those reported in other Ln(III) complexes with carboxylic acids. [3][4][5]35,49,50,[69][70][71] This bond length order is consistent with the expected trend based on the lanthanide contraction effect, which describes that the ionic radii decrease as the atom number increases, that lead average Ln-O bond lengths decrease accordingly. 3,4,72 It may be noted that in each case, the Ln-O bonds for the chelating C12/O7/O8 carboxylate group are relatively longer due to formation of strained four-membered rings.…”

“…Multidentate N-heterocyclic ligands, like imidazole, benzimidazole, pyrazole, pyridine, piperazine and their derivatives, have been widely used in the construction of CPs since they have abundant coordination sites and can act as both hydrogen-bond acceptors and donors, and can thus form variable coordination modes and allow for greater structural diversity (Carlotto et al, 2015;Hawes et al, 2016;Karaag aç et al, 2016;Li et al, 2012;Wei et al, 2017). On the other hand, aromatic polycarboxylates, such as benzenedicarboxylate, benzenetricarboxylate, benzenetetracarboxylate, biphenyltetracarboxylate etc., have also been proved to be powerful organic ligands, since they can act as hydrogen-bond acceptors and donors in the assembly of supramolecular structures, and the carboxyl groups can coordinate to metal ions in various coordination fashions, such as monodentate, bidentate (bridging) and chelating, and can likely yield structural isomers (Gao et al, 2008;Han et al, 2014;Li et al, 2015;Lahoud et al, 2017). Compared with monomophic types of ligands, combining mixed ligands in one CP offers greater tunability of the structural framework.…”

“…The single‐crystal x‐ray diffraction reveals that [Tb 2 (3,4‐DMBA) 6 (5,5′‐DM‐2,2′‐bipy) 2 (H 2 O)] has a two‐dimensional network, crystallizing in the Triclinic system, P ī space group. The asymmetric unit of this ternary complex is generated by two crystallographically independent Tb (III) centers (Tb1 and Tb2), one coordination water, six 3,4‐DMBA − ligands and two 5,5′‐DM‐2,2′‐bipy ligands . The Tb1 center is eight‐coordinated, involved in a distorted square antiprism geometry and bound completely to six oxygen atoms (O1, O3, O5, O7, O9 and O10) respectively, which from one bidentate chelating and four bridging bidentate 3,4‐DMBA − ligands.…”
