A novel memcapacitor and its application in a chaotic circuit

Abstract: In this paper, a novel memcapacitor is designed by SBT memristor and two capacitors. A fifth-order memcapacitor and memristor chaotic circuit is proposed. The stability of the equilibrium point of the system is analyzed theoretically. Lyapunov exponents spectra, bifurcation diagrams, poincaré maps and phase diagrams are used to analyze the dynamic behaviors of the system. The results show that under different initial values and parameters, the system produces rich dynamic behaviors such as stable points, limit… Show more

“…Memcapacitive devices can be realized through the implementation of a variable plate distance and surface area [9], and a metal-insulator transition material in series with a dielectric layer [10]. These physical implementations have greatly promoted the research on the applications of memcapacitor elements [11][12][13]. A memcapacitor-based oscillator can be established by introducing a memcapacitor into an existing oscillating circuit or combining it with other circuit elements [14][15][16][17][18][19].…”

“…For the chaotic system, transient transition may be more significance than the steady state [28,29]. Guo et al [30] found transient chaos in memristive chaotic circuit, highlighting its dynamic behavior during the transitional phase. Bao et al [31] found the transient period in the memristive hyperchaotic system.…”

“…Some interesting dynamic phenomena were also observed in the memristor chaotic circuit [15][16][17][18]. For example, multistability is a common phenomenon in many nonlinear dynamical systems [19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. In Ref.…”
