A Novel MALDI Matrix for Analyzing Peptides and Proteins: Paraffin Wax Immobilized Matrix

Abstract: A new kind of MALDI matrix, termed paraffin wax immobilized matrix, was used to study peptide mixtures and proteins. During the preparation process, the paraffin wax was heated and coated on the stainless-steel target plate, and then 2,5-dihydrobenzoic acid (DHB) was deposited on the paraffin layer and stainless-steel target plate to obtain different kinds of matrix spots. The morphology of matrices on different supports and peptide-matrix co-crystallization were observed by a high resolution digital-video mic… Show more

“…This confirms the retention of Keggin unit after supporting on to Hβ supercages. 24 The data for surface area, pore width, and NH 3 -TPD are presented in Table 2. Specific surface area and pore diameter strongly decreased for TPA-containing Hβ relative to the starting support.…”

“…The reection at 2q ¼ 29 indicate the presence of the crystalline phase of SiW 11 on to the support. 27 The catalyst shows reections of SiW 11 with very low intensity indicating a well dispersion of SiW 11 inside the channels of the support. 28 The SEM images show that the surface morphology of 30% SiW 11 /Hb (Fig.…”
