A Novel Low-Profile Wideband Uhf Antenna

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, an ultra high frequency (UHF) low-profile antenna is proposed; it is based on the discone antenna but with addition of a back cavity, a short-circuiting structure and a two-plate top structure in order to achieve both low-profile and wideband. It is simulated and prototyped. The test results show that the antenna has an omni-directional radiation pattern in the horizontal plane, is of low-profile, has a height of less than 0.1λ max , and is wideband with an impedance bandwidth of 65% fr… Show more

“…The beam pattern could vary from one pulse transmission to another because of heat and other uncontrollable natural factors that affect the internal circuitry. The other is the fixed error of antenna system itself [33][34][35], which will bring a constant error of magnitude and phase in the image pair This error can be corrected during the compensation of the registration error.…”

“…A wideband dual-frequency antenna is proposed in [8], but the bandwidth cannot cover all the UHF band with VSWR less than 1.5, and the gain is not high. A novel low profile wideband UHF antenna is proposed in [9], while the size is large, and manufacture of conic is difficult. In [10], the impedance bandwidth of the patch antenna is wide, while the measured gains are low in all the bands.…”
