A novel inverter with sinusoidal voltage and current output

Abstract: Output voltages of an conventional voltage-source PWM inverter applied to AC motor drive systems, contain high level switching frequency ripples due to the PWM operation, while output currents are kept nearly sinusoidal. The high level harmonics in the output voltage cause acoustic noises and iron losses.
