“…We note here that a null depth level, deeper than -60 dB, is achieved with a minimum DRR (4.1), over the concerned region Δθ, while the null depth level using BA is -56.4 dB. For IWO/WDO method [37], the resulted pattern has a wide deep null but it presents a DRR of 7.5 and a SLL of -26 dB. In the last example, we synthesize an array of 2N=20 elements with the desired null at the peak of the second sidelobe of the Chebyshev pattern, which occurs at 94°.…”

“…4 Optimization algorithm IWO and DE are intelligent algorithms which have been used in various kinds of optimization problems [21][22][23][24]. In order to improve the synthesis results, invasive weed optimization and differential evolution algorithm are combined for parallel computation.…”

“…The element positions are optimized by differential invasive weed optimization (DIWO), and low PSLLs of the radiation patterns are obtained. IWO has been widely used in the design of antennas [17,21,22]. Usually, IWO has better optimization results than the other optimization methods in the final error level.…”

“…A modified differential evolution algorithm is proposed for introducing asymmetric nulls of 28 element linear antenna array [5]. In [6]investigation into pattern nulling of uniform linear array and non-uniform circular array has been carried out by applying novel IWO/DWO algorithm. Positioning of single nulls as well as broad nulls in the interference direction was explored and compared with various benchmark functions.…”
