A Novel Energy Efficient Routing Protocol EACBM for Scalable Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: Recent advancements in the field of wireless communication results in the improvement of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) having low powered, low cost and smallest multi-operational sensing units called Sensor Nodes (SNs). The limited battery life of these SNs is the major issue of WSNs. The dissipation of SN energy for transmitting information of one SN to Base Station (BS) is the major cause of depletion of SN energy. Also, SNs energy is in direct relation with battery lifetime of WSNs. Due to which WSN is af… Show more

“…It provides the optimal number of CHs needed, a fundamental data-transmission energy model. Threshold sensitive Energy E cient sensor Network (TEEN) [5], delay-based algorithm [6], Energy Aware Cluster Based Multi-hop (EACBM) [7], and some other clustering algorithms [8-10] were proposed for increasing the e ciency of the WSNs through different techniques. The Multi-Weight Based Clustering Algorithm (MWBCA) [9] is proposed to prevent CHs from dying earlier, this algorithm takes each node as CH alternatively, and the node having high residual energy has more probability of becoming the CH.…”

“…Energy Aware cluster Based Multi-hop (EACBM) a new routing protocol was proposed by Toor and Jain (2018) that makes use of the clustering principle and communication patted based on multi-hop to transfer information to base station. When comparing the performance of EACBM routing protocol with existing algorithms the proposed algorithm has shown betterment with respect stability among sensor nodes, throughput, lifetime of network and number of dead nodes per round for all the three different network sizes.…”
