A novel energy‐aware routing mechanism for SDN‐enabled WSAN

Abstract: Energy consumption is one of the most important design constraints when building a wireless sensor and actuator network since each device in the network has a limited battery capacity, and prolonging the lifetime of the network depends on saving energy. Overcoming this challenge requires a smart and reconfigurable network energy management strategy. The Software-Defined Networking (SDN) paradigm aims at building a flexible and dynamic network structure, especially in wireless sensor networks. In this study, we… Show more

“…In [30], authors Summarizes the challenges and opportunities while designing the SDN-based WSN to meet the functional requirements at the customer level for various networking applications, describes SD-WSN strategies and efforts for the improvement in the monitored environments. A new routing mechanism [31] for SDN enabled WSANs is designed for reducing the energy consumption using a fuzzy-based Dijkstra algorithm. Further, a meta-heuristic approach [32] for energy-efficient route selection in SD-WSN using Dolphin echolocation algorithm (DEA) considering exploration and exploitation problem.…”

“…Moreover, it specifies the great parallel configuration for any provided data packet after that deploys a dynamic differentiation to make it adaptive to differing data packets online nearly instantly. In addition, along with this system, the fuzzy logic and Dijkstra's algorithm 24 are captured where it captures sensor node passing, like the pending energy and the nearby device list periodically. The nodes in the sensor network get to communicate with a targeted node; it primarily shares a network request to the network to get the correct way to the targets.…”
