A novel dynamic integral sliding mode control for power electronic converters

Abstract: The key characteristics of the sliding mode control (SMC) are the ability to manage unmodeled dynamics with rapid response and the inherent robustness of parametric differences, making it an appropriate choice for the control of power electronic converters. However, its drawback of changing switching frequency causes critical electro-magnetic compatibility and switching power loss issues. This paper addresses the problem by proposing a dynamic integral sliding mode control for power converters having fixed swi… Show more

“…This paper proposes a control algorithm based on artificial neural network after analyzing the existing nonlinear control algorithms. At present, several mainstream nonlinear control methods include model predictive control [13], bang-bang control [14], and synovial control [15,16]. Among them, model predictive control [17] requires high-level models and a large number of model coefficients to accurately characterize the system, otherwise the prediction results will be incorrect, and the virtual synchronous machine does not meet these two conditions [18].…”

“…In contrast to its conventional predecessor [13], the ISM control incorporates an integral term in its sliding surface, which enables the integral sliding mode control (ISMC) to avoid the reaching phase. Thus resulting in a quicker convergence time [14], [15].…”

“…MAO et al 13 proposed a new adaptive fault-tolerant sliding mode control scheme considering disturbance and actuator failure. Although sliding mode control [14][15][16][17][18] has a good tracking effect, it can easily produce a chattering phenomenon. Although some correction methods, such as the saturation function method, can effectively reduce the chattering phenomenon, they will sacrifice the advantage of outstanding anti-disturbance performance.…”
